Turkish Towels and Bedding Wholesale: A Specification Guide for Retailers

Turkish towels and bed linen have a strong reputation worldwide, built on long-staple cotton, experienced mills and centres such as Denizli and Bursa. For Gulf retailers and hotel suppliers, Turkey offers quality close to European levels with faster delivery and flexible quantities.
Towels and bathrobes: what to specify
Cotton type: standard cotton, combed cotton, or premium long-staple such as Aegean cotton. Ask for the composition in writing.
Weight (GSM): grams per square metre. Lighter towels around 400–450 GSM dry quickly; 550–650 GSM feels plush and is popular in hotels and premium retail.
Construction: terry loops, zero-twist, waffle or peshtemal (flat-woven Turkish hammam towels).
Sizes: face, hand, bath and bath sheet sizes in centimetres, with tolerances.
Dobby border, embroidery or logo for branded or hotel lines.
Bedding: what to specify
Fabric: percale, sateen, ranforce, cotton-polyester blends or microfibre
Thread count and yarn type
Set contents: duvet cover, fitted or flat sheet, pillowcases and quantities
Local sizes, since bed dimensions in the Gulf can differ from European standards
Fitted sheet pocket depth, which matters for thick mattresses
Test what customers notice
Ask for test results or run your own checks on shrinkage after washing, colour fastness, pilling and absorbency. A cheap towel that sheds lint or a sheet that shrinks after the first wash leads to returns.
Samples and colour
Approve a sample of each quality, and a colour card for each colour. White is not one colour; agree a reference shade. For large orders, ask for a lab dip before production.
Packing for retail
Decide whether you need bulk packing, polybag with insert card, gift boxes, or bands with barcodes. Agree carton quantities, carton marks and maximum carton weight. Textile labelling with fibre content and care instructions is required in many markets, often in Arabic too.
